Timor-Leste is situated on the eastern part of the island of Timor, in Southeast Asia. It also includes the nearby islands of Atauro, Jaco, and Oecusse – which is an enclave on the northwestern side of Indonesian, West Timor. 

With 13 districts and 65 sub-districts, the country covers an area of about 15 000 km².
